Customer need
New courier management software to optimize logistics flow
REPA has a considerable number of items to manage and market worldwide, and the needs that led them to rely on Onit stemmed from the need to improve and streamline business activities related to shipping and courier management.
To meet these needs, REPA needed a dedicated software that would improve communication with its many national and international couriers, optimize the logistics flow in the warehouse, and manage and automatically generate labels for shipments, a task that was previously delegated to the ERP.
On.Plant solution
Courier: the shipping process optimization system for courier management
As a result of the need to strengthen and streamline the company's operations, Onit began to study some technological proposals for REPA, culminating in the decision to adopt Courier software for courier management, which REPA uses extensively both in the Italian logistics center and in all the other distribution centers of the group.
Courier, software from the On.Plant platform, enables improved shipment flow by becoming the single point of contact for operators to process all orders arriving at the warehouse in a matter of moments. It also allows shipments to be tracked by providing an email with a dedicated link to the end customer so that the order can always be followed step by step until delivery.
There are numerous logistics services that have been integrated in Italy (TNT, FEDEX, DHL, BRT, FERCAM, UPS, GLS and Poste Italiane) thanks to the Courier management software, with plans in the future to implement new ones in countries such as Spain, France and the UK, where REPA operates directly with its own logistics centres.
Achievements
Automate and optimize shipment tracking with Courier Software
Integrating Courier software with the company's ERP and e-commerce sites has enabled REPA to centralize and automate shipment management and simplify communication with all couriers.
Courier management software has also brought other important benefits, such as:
- reduced shipping costs through process efficiency;
- automatic pick-up: the system automatically books the pick-up of shipments;
- tracking of all orders from a single interface accessible even to the end customer;
- single, comprehensive point of communication with domestic and international couriers.
In addition, Courier delivery management software has also solved the business need for automatic production of order labels: based on courier specifications, parcel labels are produced in various formats and accompanying documentation is also provided for different types of shipments (domestic, EU, non-EU).
The development and integration of Courier software has led to an improvement in REPA in terms of innovation, functionality and productivity, strengths that make the group very competitive in the market.
